Women working together at a table for therapy consulting session

EMDR Consultation

EMDR consultation is where theory becomes clinical judgment. I offer consultation for therapists who have completed EMDR Basic Training and want support integrating EMDR into real-world clinical practice.

You've completed the training. Now what?

You understand the model, but when it comes time to use EMDR in session, you may still feel unsure. You might find yourself second-guessing target selection, pacing, or what to do when processing gets stuck. Consultation bridges the gap between learning EMDR and practicing it with confidence. If you've ever second-guessed yourself in session, you're not alone — and you don't have to navigate it alone either.

✓ Am I applying the protocol correctly?

✓ What if I push my client too far, too fast?

✓ How do I choose the right target?

✓ When should I use an interweave?

✓ Am I ready to call myself an EMDR therapist?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No. EMDR consultation is focused specifically on the use of EMDR therapy. While supervision addresses broader clinical, ethical, and administrative responsibilities, consultation centers on EMDR case conceptualization, application of the model, and clinical decision-making within EMDR sessions.

  • No. Many therapists seek consultation to feel more confident and effective using EMDR without pursuing certification. Consultation can be valuable at any stage of your EMDR practice.

  • That's common and expected. Consultation is designed to support therapists as they build confidence and competence. You do not need to have everything figured out to benefit from consultation.

  • Sessions may include case discussion, target planning, troubleshooting blocked processing, and exploring clinical questions that arise from your work. Consultation is interactive and reflective, not prescriptive.

  • Consultation may be offered in individual or small-group formats depending on availability. Each format is structured to ensure meaningful feedback, clinical depth, and supportive learning.
